What's scarier than playing Slender? Playing it while drunk

I've featured the popular scarefest of a game that is Slender before.

Here's another video demonstrating the pants wetting terror it can induce, this time on a group of drunken guys.

NSFW Warning: About 90% of the dialogue is cursing, including some homophobic & racial slurs

This new Metal Gear trailer should satisfy your gamer pr0n quota for a whole week

There's even a sneaky Dr. Who reference thrown in toward the end.

But in the unlikely event you're still left wanting more, here's two and half minutes of actual gameplay for your enjoyment.

Is Slender the scariest video game of all time?

The premise of free-to-play indie game Slender is simple. Take a pleasant walk through the woods while looking for 8 pieces of paper...

... and try not to scream so loudly as to disturb the neighbours.

The ultimate challenge is to play it in the middle of the night, having switched all the lights off, cranked the volume up high and aimed a camera at your face in order to record your ordeal for our enjoyment.

Even playing it during the daylight is a fairly harrowing experience.

The game's popularity has also inspired real life video re-enactments, showing just how terrifying simple a meme this is.

So are you brave enough to give it a go?

Rise of the Let's Play: YouTubers playing video games for other people's enjoyment

The idea that people would find it entertaining to watch someone else playing a computer game (instead of just playing it themselves) might seem strange, but YouTube Let's Plays are amongst the most popular video series' online, with the biggest channels generating advertising revenues large enough for their creators to make it their full time job.

With just under 4,000 subscribers, AssyrianAssass1n's channel might not be the biggest but that doesn't stop him making great content.

The first episode of his new Game Over series, sees him play classic games until he either beats them or reaches the Game Over screen, starting with the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES.

Here's that bluegrass cover of the Mario Bros. theme you've been waiting for

Don't pretend that you haven't.

The new live action Mortal Kombat series is here!

Some of you may remember the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth video that appeared out of nowhere last year. Was it the trailer for a new film? A piece of clever viral marketing for a new game? Actually it was a pitch from the director to Warner Bros. to make a new live action series.

Fast forward several months and the first of 10 webisodes (web + episodes) has debuted on the Machinima YouTube channel. It features Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine from Star Trek), Tahmoh Penikett (Karl "Helo" Agathon from Battlestar Galactica) and Michael Jai White (Spawn, Exit Wounds & Black Dynamite).

Don't say I never give you anything... FINISH HIM!!!

The Charlie Sheen collection

I (like a large portion of the internet) have become kind of obsessed with Charlie Sheen lately. I'm trying not to bombard you with every little bit of Bi-Winning I come across but here are three of my favourites from the past few days:

Geek dad proves how much he loves his daughter

If you haven't watched the trailer for Dead Island yet I really urge you to do so. It is an amazingly moving 3 minutes of animation.

Of course if you're a parent it may be a little too moving:
(NSFW language)

As far as response videos go that was pretty mega. The fact that he stops mid-tirade to Google is epic geekdom, made even greater by the ridiculous racial slur he then comes out with.
