It's May 1st which means it's time to celebrate one of Jonathan Coulton's finest creations and I give you a choice as to how best to do so. The first video below is a recording of the song with the lyrics displayed in karaoke style, the second is a burlesque routine performed to the track. Before you all go rushing off to look at the redhead taking off her clothes, the opening few lines of the song are missing and the audio isn't as good.
So pick which one you prefer or go wild and choose both (it should be obvious that both are NSFW).
Disclaimer:Legally I can't encourage you to perform any naughty acts in public which might get you in trouble, but if you do end up having to explain yourself to an officer of the law feel free to show them this post.
Written by Jonathan Coulton, the song plays during the end credits of the popular video game Portal. It's funny, beautiful and amazing. Here it is set to some well crafted kinetic typography:
If you don't know who Jonathan Coulton is... click the link I put there especially for that purpose, I didn't do it for my own benefit! (While you're at it look up his Thing A Week project).
One of his fans, Jarrett Heather, decided that a suitably amazing video was needed to accompany his song "Shop Vac". Jarrett therefore spent a ridiculous amount of time and did indeed produce a video of outstanding quality.
Am I the only one who thinks this could be the opening credits for the best sitcom ever?
