A Christmas tune with a Boston Irish flavour

The Dropkick Murphys have released a video to accompany their latest single "The Season's Upon Us", a holiday song that captures a certain kind of Christmas spirit.

Expect to hear this ringing out of Irish pubs across the world over the next few weeks.

The moment that Katie Taylor's hometown saw her win Gold

It's not every day that a small Irish town gets to see one of it's own become an Olympic champion.

Ride On - Christy Moore (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

To quote one of the YouTube comments on this video:

Christy is to Ireland what Bob Marley is to Jamaica... an absolute f*cking legend.

Ride on Christy, ride on.

Spancil Hill - Christy Moore & Shane MacGowan (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Two legends of Irish music performing one legendary song.

Rare Old Mountain Dew - The Dubliners (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Rootless Tree - Damien Rice (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Not a traditional Paddy's Day tune by any means but it is perhaps one of the greatest songs to ever come from the Emerald Isle. Beautifully painful.

Whiskey In The Jar (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

My two favourite versions as performed in traditional fashion by Luke Kelly with The Dubliners, and in rockier form by Metallica:

Dirty Old Town - The Pogues (plus a special bonus!) #PaddysDay #StPatricksDay

Body of an American - The Pogues (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Best known as the song from McNulty's wake in The Wire.

The Rattlin' Bog - Irish Drinking Song (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

I'm A Rover - The Dubliners (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

It's actually a Scottish song but it still feels right
