Wow. I'm genuinely stumped on this one. Is it subtle satire or just batshit insane?

Penny from The Big Bang Theory plays with a Shake Weight

Whilst on a recent episode of the Ellen show, actress Kaley Cuoco (Penny from TV's The Big Bang Theory) got to grips with a Shake Weight and made an embarassing confession (along with several Freudian slips).

A topical, satirical and generally awesome Angry Birds cartoon

We might be waiting awhile for the Angry Birds movie I showed you a trailer of earlier, so in the meantime here's an animated short:

My man-crush on Sam Tsui continues.

[Boom!]

You'll believe an animatronic bird can fly

Pretty. Darn. Impressive.

Watch this and start your morning off with a smile

Turns out this amazing song was part of the The Rock & Worship Roadshow 2011, and features Mercy Me a Christian band from Dallas. I'm in danger of losing my Militant Atheist card if I keep posting things like this but I just can't help it when they make such awesome videos!

Are you ready for the Angry Birds movie?

Lady Gaga reads my blog!

Lady Gaga obviously read my 'Katy Perry takes Lady Gaga down a country road' post. How else can you explain her releasing this Country Road version of Born This Way?

'Bodyslammed Bully' Speaks Out - Two sides to every story

A few days ago I posted the interview with Casey Haynes, the boy who stood up to a bully and captured the heart of the internets.

Here his bully has his say and while it doesn't forgive his actions it does help remind us that he's just a 12 year old kid and that he and his family are now going through an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone.

I can't begin to do this justice so just watch it and thank me afterwards.

This is somehow simultaneously hilarious and horrific

I heard this mentioned on Charlie Brooker's radio show and had to share it with you. It features Keith Chegwin, Lionel Blair, Jim Bowen and a trouserless Bobby Davro in a clip now used by the BBC to show how not to do things.

And finally, please be upstanding for the Irish National Anthem (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Goodnight and Happy Paddy's Day!

Possibly the finest moment in the history of Irish music (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Boyzone's first ever TV appearance.

Dirty Ol' Town - The Pogues (plus a special bonus!) #PaddysDay #StPatricksDay

Bonus: Here's Shane performing a one minute version with Christy Moore

The Muppets sing Danny Boy (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

This is just adorable.

Ride On - Christy Moore (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

To quote one of the YouTube comments on this video:
Christy is to Ireland what Bob Marley is to Jamaica... an absolute f*cking legend.

Ride on Christy, ride on.

Spancil Hill - Christy Moore & Shane MacGowan (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Two legends of Irish music performing one legendary song.

Rare Old Mountain Dew - The Dubliners (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Rootless Tree - Damien Rice (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Not a traditional Paddy's Day tune by any means but it is perhaps one of the greatest songs to ever come from the Emerald Isle. Beautifully painful.

NSFW language in the form of repeated F- you's

The Fields of Athenry - Paddy Reilly (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Galway Girl - Steve Earle & Sharon Shannon (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Whiskey In The Jar (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

My two favourite versions as performed in traditional fashion by Luke Kelly with The Dubliners, and in rockier form by Metallica:

Dirty Old Town - The Pogues (plus a special bonus!) #PaddysDay #StPatricksDay

Bonus: Here's Shane performing a one minute version with Christy Moore

Body of an American - The Pogues (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Best known as the song from McNulty's wake in The Wire.

The Spicy McHaggis Jig - Dropkick Murphys (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

The Rattlin' Bog - Irish Drinking Song (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

I'm A Rover - The Dubliners (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

It's actually a Scottish song but it still feels right

"There's a neat little lass, and her name is Mari Mac" (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

The Dirty Glass - Dropkick Murphys (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

The Blood of Cuchulainn - Mychael Danna (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

The theme song for the film "The Boondock Saints".

I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

The Irish Rover - The Pouges and The Dubliners (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

"I am a true Irishman, but there I was not born" (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

It's not where you were born that determines where you come from, but where you call Home.

Delirium Tremens - Christy Moore (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

I Useta Love Her - The Saw Doctors (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

N17 - The Saw Doctors (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Joyce Country Ceili Band - The Saw Doctors (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

About You Now - The Saw Doctors (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

The Saw Doctors show the Sugababes how it should be done!

Black Velvet Band - Luke Kelly (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Tell Me Ma - The Dubliners (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Have you heard about the 'Big Strong Man'? (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Knock Song - Christy Moore (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Even as a militant Atheist I'd agree that the airport at Knock was something of a miracle. The video starts with a news clip setting the scene before Christy's vocals kick in.

Maybe It's Because I'm An Irish Londoner - Biblecode Sundays (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

I'm proud to call myself London Irish, meaning I was born and raised in London but it was the part of North-West London that belongs to Ireland, so this song means a lot to me.

The video has a snippet of an interview about the Irish in London in the 50s/60s and the song is accompanied by footage from the period of the Irish working in the UK.

Top O' The Morning To Ya! - House of Pain (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

"I'm Irish, but I'm not a leprechaun"

Traditional Irish Folk Song - Dennis Leary (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

A tongue in cheek tribute to traditional Irish songs by the comedian Dennis Leary.

Bar Room Hero - Dropkick Murphys (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Drinking All Day - Biblecode Sundays (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

This is pretty much my plan for Paddy's Day! :D

Some Say The Devil Is Dead - The Kilkennys (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

You gotta love those sexy Irish dancers!

Jump Around - House of Pain (#PaddysDay #StPatricksDay)

Jump!

What happened next? The TRON: Legacy Epilogue

TRON: The Next Day is a featurette from the forthcoming Blu-ray/DVD release which shows what happened after the end of TRON: Legacy as well as filling in some of the blanks in the years between the films. Even more importantly it also foreshadows the possible 3rd TRON film (inevitably being dubbed TR3N), providing hints as to which characters we can expect to see and what the will be facing.

Even as an Atheist I can't help loving this Purim song

I hadn't heard of the Jewish festival of Purim before but this song by The Maccabeats makes it seem like a great celebration.

Catchy isn't it?

Two clever videos to make you ponder female equality

There are lots of videos on the internet trying to inform us of important issues or make us consider problems within our society that we'd rather just avoid. It takes something a bit special to stand out from that ever growing crowd and I think these two do so quite well.

The Foo Fighters movie cometh!

Check out this trailer for the forthcoming Foo Fighters rock-umentary:

On top of that we have the new album to look forward to. We've already seen the video for White Limo and now we have one for Rope:

Katy Perry takes Lady Gaga down a country road

Here's another cover of Lady Gaga's monster of a hit 'Born This Way', this time it's Katy Perry providing the vocals and giving it a distinctly country music style that I really dig.

Little girl's cover gets more views than Lady Gaga's original (and leaves me crying in a manly fashion)

A few days back I shared the latest video from Lady Gaga. Currently it has a mere 14 million views while the gem below has nearly 21 million.

I've always said that you can tell a great song by its cover versions and this is no exception, as evidenced by the big macho tears it caused me to shed.

WTC Attack September 11, 2001 - Video footage from NYPD Helicopter

The video is from an NYPD Air Sea Rescue helicopter and starts after both of the World Trade Center's towers had been struck and was obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request.

Right off I have to say I didn't watch this whole video. Usually I wouldn't post something without having viewed it in its entirety but I had to make an exception in this case as I just found it too disturbing. I did watch short sections from various points in the video and as far as I can tell there is nothing shocking in the footage other than the horrific event itself.

It's hardly in keeping with the lighthearted nature of my other blog posts but I felt it needed to be shared nonetheless. Nearly 10 years on, my heart goes out to everyone who lost someone that day.

Become the Zen warrior who knows how to shatter traffic jams as you approach them

There's a great article on Cracked providing us with scientific explanations for road rage, crowd surges, people who walk too slowly and annoying idiots who have loud mobile phone conversations on the train.

Anonymity breeds sociopathy. Otherwise known as Cracked's Greater Theory of 4Chan.

It also explains why traffic jams happen and in the process provides a link to a YouTube video that should be compulsory viewing for all motorists.

One driver can wipe out a traffic jam. One.

And all it takes is for them to not drive like an asshole. By leaving space in front and allowing other drivers in, you can stop traffic jams. Here's how:

Chinese Cleavage Clamp Video (sNSFW)

This is a Chinese advert for a new form of cleavage enhancing lingerie. That sentence doesn't prepare you for how weird this advert is.

If you watched more than a minute or two you will have seen that this isn't just some kind of Wonderbra that can be switched on or off by special strings with a funky electronic sound effect. No this is a full body sculpting system that hides your bulging tummy and makes your butt perfectly perky.

Trailer for Cars 2 speeds onto the web

The good folks over at the HeyUGuys movie blog have just shared the full length trailer for Pixar's 'Cars 2'.

I'm in love with Lady Gaga's madness

Below is the video for Lady Gaga's latest hit 'Born This Way'. It's the extended story-length video so skip forward a few minutes to get to the singing. I have to admit that I've fallen instantly in love with this song, there is something in the combination of vocal melody, beats, electronic effects and 80s nostalgia that just appealed to me at once. I'm not one of Gaga's little monsters but I do think she has some very well written songs and I enjoy the persona she uses to promote them.

Yo blud. Check out dis wicked trailer for 'Chavs vs. Aliens'. Innit.

Firstly, it's actually called 'Attack The Block' I just prefer my title even if 'Urban Yoofs from South London vs. Aliens' would be more technically correct.

Secondly, it's written and directed by Joe Cornish (of Adam & Joe fame) and is Executive Produced by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim / Shaun of the Dead / Spaced).

It does look good doesn't it? But wouldn't it have been just that little bit better if they'd gone with my title?

Spanish TV will scare the hell out of you

I think this is a Spanish TV show (you can tell by the lisps) and for the first 45 seconds I have no idea what is going on, but from then on it is awesome.

How do you think you would have reacted? And what the hell was that last woman about to do?!

He's not bi-polar, he's bi-winning!

There's not much I can say about the Charlie "Tigerblood" Sheen furore that is currently going on. All I can say is if you haven't done so already watch this interview and then join me in crossing your fingers in the hopes he manages to stay alive for the foreseeable future.

Also, you might want to check out Mac Lethal's take on the situation (NSFW language):

There's something not quite right about this dude
