What song are you listening to?

Here's what the people of New York had to say when asked what song they were listening to.

Shaun of the 'Dead Island'

Shaun of the Dead gets the Dead Island treatment.

How the hell did Bruno Mars get Spock in his video?

It's an alternative video for his Lazy Song and it stars Leonard Nimoy as you've never seen him before.

A truly epic (and possibly record breaking) lip dub from the citizens of Grand Rapids, Michigan

After a Newsweek story described the city as "dying", 5,000 people took part in this monumental lip dub to prove them wrong. I think they did a fine job of it.

What would you do if you saw this happening in a restaurant?

I thought this was going to be negative and sleazy but it actually turned out to be uplifting and reassuring. Donovan's beautiful words brought me to tears.

Mummy cat gives sleepy kitten a hug

There's nothing the internet likes more than cute kitty videos and this latest one is overwhelmingly cute.

Weezer give an astounding rendition of Radiohead's "Paranoid Android"

I wasn't expecting much from this but it's actually pretty darn good.

"Stop... are there Muppets in this movie?"

First trailer for the new Muppets movie coming out later this year:

Saturday Night Live goes Gaga (with a little help from Justin Timberlake)

Justin Timberlake has become a regular on the set of SNL but this time he brought a friend along to join in the fun. Here are some of JT and Gaga's finest moments.

First up, Mr Timberlake joins Andy Samberg and Miss Gaga for an intimate musical moment:

Sometimes the guests just simply outclass the in house talent, and with moves like this there was little doubt about it:

Gaga and Justin go head-to-head in this game show based skit:

The Mother Monster has an album to plug so of course there were some live performances:

No Gaga in this one but Jimmy Fallon joins Justin for a skit:

Judgement Day: A Rapture themed Rebecca Black parody

I was just thinking to myself "I wonder if anyone has made a parody of 'Friday' based around the world ending today?" and luckily YouTube didn't let me down:

Walmart's new advert accused of aggressively targeting fans of bouncing booties and bad hip-hop

NSFW levels of ass-shakin'

My favourite YouTube comment on the video:
"To all the young black women out there stay in school unless you wanna end in some stupid ass nigggas ghetto budget video singing about walmart."

If you've read this far without realising this isn't a Walmart advert you need to seek professional help

"If you're not paying for it, you're the product being sold"

A quick look at some of the things people have been saying online recently:

Disney's Cinderella did not predict the Royal Wedding!

The first time I saw the picture claiming that the wedding in Cinderella was spookily similar to the Royal Wedding I said "I bet that's been photoshopped". I was right but still see people posting the fake image to their Facebook wall each day. Please stop doing so now.

I love me some lib dub!

Bruno Mars - Lazy Song: The perfect soundtrack for a day off

I only just watched this video even though it's been doing the rounds for awhile. If you haven't done so yet, take a few minutes and brighten up your day.

And while you're here, check out Bruno's collaboration with Ziggy Marley below:

Meet the man who can turn his head through 180 degrees (like a owl).

A owl? A owl!

This video contains scenes of a freakishly flexible man... you have been warned.

A trick shot video with a difference

I guess he's on one of those Ultimate Frisbee scholarships?

"Is dat the karate?"

Admit it, we've all been guilty of stereotyping others, but how many of us have used it to our advantage?

What the Finns need to know about Portugal

I'm not entirely sure why they need to know all this, but I think it has something to do with the current economic climate.

How did kids react to the news of Osama Bin Laden's death?

The 'Kids React' series of YouTube videos usually features a group of kids being shown popular YouTube videos. In this episode they were instead shown President Obama's recent address.

"USA" Chant on NYC Subway FAIL

It would not have been my first choice of location...

A Lady Gaga cover, brought to us by... Lady Gaga?

While Lady isn't adverse to remixing her own tracks this isn't her performing a cover of herself. Instead, it's an acoustic cover of Judas (the video of which I shared yesterday) performed by drewby1xo.

This is the second time I've come across a cover after Gaga linked to them herself (you can read about the previous one here). It's nice to see an artist embracing the 2.0 approach to their music.

Economic policy decisions should always be decided by rap battles

The first video in this series appeared in one of my posts back in February 2010. As I was pretty much the only person to read it, here it is again:

Over a year later, these two economic titans are back again for a second round:

Note: I've studied just enough economics to know that I don't really understand it...
and neither does anyone else.

I know nothing about this video so don't bother asking me what's going on...

Amazing Ohio Stadium Basketball Shot

Of course they didn't show us the 80 attempts they made previously.

You can't send a message to your 16 year old self, so take this chance to do it for someone else

This made me smile. And laugh. And cry.

It then made me want to share it with as many people as possible, and ask you to do the same.

Most of you will have already made the comparison with Baz Luhrmann's Everyone's free (to wear sunscreen). Here's a chance to hear it again, and for those of you who haven't heard it before... listen closely to some of the best advice you'll ever be given.

Lady Gaga presents 'Judas' (Sons of Anarchy meets Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet)

I don't pretend to understand what I'm seeing here, but I do know I like it:

More Lady Gaga posts

Is it just me that finds geeky cover songs awesome?

Here's a D&D parody of 'Like a G6':

Of course it reminded me of this:

"First of May, first of May, outdoor f*cking starts today" (NSFW)

It's May 1st which means it's time to celebrate one of Jonathan Coulton's finest creations and I give you a choice as to how best to do so. The first video below is a recording of the song with the lyrics displayed in karaoke style, the second is a burlesque routine performed to the track. Before you all go rushing off to look at the redhead taking off her clothes, the opening few lines of the song are missing and the audio isn't as good.

So pick which one you prefer or go wild and choose both (it should be obvious that both are NSFW).
